We read with interest the paper by Brosnahan et al1 reporting patients from the HALT-PKD trials with nonlinear estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) slopes and nonprogressors as defined by serial eGFRs. Although these results are interesting, it is uncertain how they relate to the entire course of disease or long-term clinical outcomes in unselected nontrial populations.
