We thank Dr. Frederick-Anthony Farrugia for his insights regarding our use of the term diaphoresis. The 20-volume The Oxford English Dictionary1 defines diaphoresis as “perspiration; especially, that produced by artificial means.” According to this dictionary, the term, diaphoresis, is adopted from a Greek word meaning sweat or perspiration and not from the Greek word referred to by Dr. Farrugia.
