The US Renal Data System (USRDS) Annual Data Report (ADR) has traditionally been the authoritative source for data pertaining to US patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). One iconic figure from many ADRs is the “USRDS pie chart of death.” Figure 1 plots these data for the 2015 ADR1 (Fig 1A) and 2013 ADR2 (Fig 1B).
