Febuxostat in Hyperuricemic Patients With Advanced CKD
Hyperuricemia is not only the main predisposing factor for gout, but is also associated with other diseases, such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, and chronic kidney disease (CKD).1 Currently, urate-lowering strategy comprises reducing urate synthesis and promoting urinary excretion of uric acid.2 However, in patients with advanced CKD (stages 4-5 [estimated GFR
