Association of Estimated GFR at the Time of Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter Insertion With Dialysis-Related Complications
Guidelines recommend waiting for uremia- or volume-related symptoms before initiating dialysis for chronic kidney disease (CKD), irrespective of modality. We speculated that the use of these guidelines may promote greater peritoneal dialysis (PD) related complications following PD catheter placement. This study investigated whether lower estimated glomerular filtration rate (GFR) at the time of PD catheter insertion was associated with greater PD-related complications.
