Trends in Pregnancy After Kidney Transplantation in the United States

End-stage kidney disease (ESKD) impacts fertility in women, making pregnancy challenging for women on dialysis.1 However, successful kidney transplantation (KT) may restore reproductive function.2 Prior studies on post-KT pregnancies in the US utilized cohorts before 2000 and may not reflect current clinical practice.3 Given recent changes in immunosuppression protocols, recipient demographics, and improvements in maternal-fetal care, understanding contemporary pregnancy trends and associated factors for pregnancy may facilitate informed decision-making.
