Letter to the Editor: “The Acute Effect of Dark Chocolate on Blood Pressure and Renal Hemodynamics as Assessed With Doppler Ultrasound in Healthy Volunteers”
We read the article “The Acute Effect of Dark Chocolate on Blood Pressure and Renal Hemodynamics as Assessed With Doppler Ultrasound in Healthy Volunteers” by Gargiulo et al.1 with great interest. We appreciate the authors’ efforts in exploring how a common dietary item like dark chocolate might influence renal blood flow and vascular function. The idea of studying real-food interventions in a clinical research setting is timely and important, especially in the context of functional nutrition and preventative medicine.
