Response Letter to Comments on: “The Acute Effect of Dark Chocolate on Blood Pressure and Renal Hemodynamics as Assessed With Doppler Ultrasound in Healthy Volunteers”

We thank the editors for giving us the opportunity to answer to the constructive comments from Rehman et al. and Aphale et al. In our article, we reported the acute hemodynamic effects 2 hours after the intake of a single dose of 1 g/kg of dark chocolate (DC; 70% cocoa) versus a similar dose of white chocolate (WC) in 17 healthy volunteers. The hemodynamic effects on the kidneys were monitored with Doppler ultrasound, whereas changes in blood pressure (BP), heart rate, and cardiac output were monitored with the Finapres NOVA hemodynamic monitoring system.
