Letter to the Editor: “Lack of Association Between Dietary Fiber Intake and Kidney Failure Among Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: The Chronic Kidney Disease-Japan Cohort Study”

We read with great interest the recent article by Hattori et al.1 entitled “Lack of Association Between Dietary Fiber Intake and Kidney Failure Among Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: The Chronic Kidney Disease-Japan Cohort Study”. The authors should be commended for conducting a large, multicenter prospective cohort study with long-term follow-up, providing important insights into the potential role of dietary fiber in patients with proteinuric chronic kidney disease (CKD). Nevertheless, we would like to raise several points that may further contextualize and extend the clinical implications of this work.
