Clarification on Existing Opportunities for POCUS Certifications for Nephrologists

We read with interest the recent AJKD perspective on point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in nephrology and appreciate the authors’ contributions to this field1. We agree that not only is it critical to advance POCUS in nephrology, but as a community, we must ensure that stringent quality criteria are established, maintained, and that competencies are re-evaluated periodically. Rigorous training with direct supervision is key. While the author’s emphasis on training is laudable, they omitted an important existing resource: The American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (ASDIN).
