Loin pain hematuria syndrome (LPHS) is a rare disease characterized by severe, unrelenting unilateral or bilateral loin pain localized to the kidney but not caused by any identifiable urinary tract disease.1 Unfortunately, conventional pain medications are inadequate in addressing this intractable and incapacitating pain.2
