The journey of a person living with kidney disease can be filled with challenges.1 People who identify as Black face additional challenges, including being less likely to be referred for evaluation, having a lower probability to be deemed appropriate for transplant or be preemptively listed, having higher transplant waitlist time, having a lower likelihood of receiving a living donor kidney, and having a lower annual rate of receiving a transplant from a deceased donor.2
