Patterns in Emergency Clinician Management of Acute Kidney Injury
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is common and is associated with an increased risk for progression to chronic disease and death.1,2 The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence,3 Acute Disease Quality Initiative,4 and Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO)5 have issued best-practice guidelines for AKI promoting early recognition, identification of etiology, and avoidance of additional injury.
