Addressing Methodological and Interpretive Concerns in a Systematic Review on Dialysis Experiences of Indigenous Patients in British Colonized Countries

We read the systematic review by the authors that investigated the experiences of Indigenous patients receiving dialysis in British colonized countries1. The authors identified four themes: the centrality of family and culture, marginalization due to structural and social inequities, vulnerability in accessing healthcare, and distress due to separation from the community. While the authors' efforts to understand the unique challenges faced by Indigenous patients are commendable, we have several concerns about the study's methodology and interpretation.
