Globalization of the world and international migration have led to the development of diasporic communities and the evolution of internationally diverse countries such as Canada. As one of the most multicultural countries in the world, Canada comprises more than 8 million immigrants that roughly constitute 20% of the total Canadian population.1 Cultural, social, and religious beliefs intrinsic to these different cultures are important factors to consider as patients weigh the decision whether to seek and obtain living donor kidney transplants (LDKT).
