In 2021, life moved along as it does for most people. The sun was shining, and plans were made without a second thought about health. But for me, 2021 marked the beginning of a journey that redefined my life. That year, I was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD) with kidney damage and high blood pressure. This diagnosis was a revelation, and it was not a typical health care encounter. It was discovered as “an incidental finding” during a presurgery examination for gastroenterological issues.
