We have read the recently published study by Hashimoto et al.1 with great interest. We would like to congratulate the authors for pointing out the importance of antihypertensive drugs leading to sarcopenia and/or osteoporosis in end-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD). However, we need to highlight some concerns regarding the definition of sarcopenia and the assessment of skeletal muscle mass (SMM).
