Five Years With the American Journal of Kidney Diseases on the Road to Evidence-Based Medicine

Medical evidence is not evidence unless it is communicated. This is true whether it is evidence from basic and applied sciences, from clinical trials, or from observational studies. Evidence must be communicated in a manner that is reproducible and trustworthy. Medical journals must shoulder this responsibility. I was honored and challenged to be the Editor-in-Chief of a subspecialty journal for 5 years in a time of rapid change in evidence-based medicine and the publication industry.
