How nephrology care is provided is no exception.1 As a registered dietitian (RDN) in the outpatient nephrology clinic at the University of Chicago, my practice has been directly impacted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ reimbursement for telehealth due to COVID-19. I provide outpatient nutrition education and counseling to patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). For the past year, rather than meet with patients in person, I have scheduled telenutrition appointments via video conference or phone.
