Kidney Biopsy Findings in Patients With COVID-19, Kidney Injury, and Proteinuria
Acute tubular injury (AKI) develops in up to 37% of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 and its pathophysiology has not been fully elucidated. In recent kidney biopsy and postmortem series, the most common pathology in patients with COVID-19 is ATI, but various pathologies have been described.1-4 We report clinicopathologic characteristics and outcomes of 13 patients with COVID-19 with kidney injury and proteinuria.
